I am happy to have with me today the keeper of The Christian Writer/Reader Connection blog, Susan J. Reinhardt. As you might imagine from the title, this lovely blog is a great place to get up to date on great reads while encouragement abounds. I asked Susan to share a book review with me today and she picked The Inheritance. So, without further comment….
The Inheritance by Tamera Alexander
McKenna Ashford accepts her cousin’s invitation to move west. Perhaps a change of scenery will turn her rebellious brother’s life around.
Instead, she comes into an inheritance, which brings a crushing responsibility. When U.S. Marshall Wyatt Caradon arrives on the scene, she’s loathe to have him around because of her brother’s troubles with the law. Yet, she needs his help with the farm.
The Marshall has spent years tracking down fugitives, and it’s getting old. The thought of putting his career aside and opening his heart to love scares him, but he’s ready.
After being on her own for so long, McKenna’s skittish about trusting a man. Leaning on others proved dangerous in the past. Why should it be any different now?
Tamera Alexander weaves a multi-faceted story, filled with tension, courage, and romance. I couldn’t get my nose out of this book. I’m not surprised because I’ve read many of her novels and keep returning for more.
Check out this book, as well as her other stories. You won’t regret it.
And don’t forget to check out Susan’s blog. You won’t regret that either. Happy reading!
